Solo Leveling Season 2 Ep 1 opens with Jinah calling her brother Jinwoo as he lies in bed. Jinah reminds him that she has a parent-teacher meeting. Later they go to Jinah’s parent-teacher meeting, and her teacher compliments Jinah on her accomplishments. The teacher inquires as to whether he would permit her to work as a hunter if Jinah were to awaken. Despite his surprise, Jinwoo responds that he won’t.
Jinwoo later runs into Song-Yi, the E-Rank hunter that he and Jinho hired during season 1. Song-Yi finds out that Jinwoo is Jinah’s brother. Sony-Yi informs Jinwoo that she will continue to work as a hunter. Jinwoo acknowledges this and invites Song-Yi to go with him. Woo and Dongsoo then meet at an airport. Dongsoo informs Woo that his goal is to destroy Jinwoo and Jinho. Go and Choi later talk about the creatures that Choi’s group saw while visiting Jeju Island.
At a dungeon gate, Jinwoo and Song-Yi encounter Ahn and Hyun. Song-Yi and Jinwoo are introduced by Ahn to Kim Chul, an A-Rank hunter with a reputation for being a tanker. They wish for Song-Yi and Jinwoo to watch Chul’s group in action. The gate turns red as Jinwoo and Chul’s group approach, and bad things begin to occur.
Jinwoo instructs Ahn to get in touch with the assault team. When Baek finds out about the gate problem, he promises to be there right away. Jinwoo and the others are in a cold region. Song-Yi is informed by Jinwoo that they have entered a Red Gate. He claims that going through a Red Gate sends people to a dungeon where they will become disconnected from reality. Jinwoo claims that in order to get out of the dungeon, they have to defeat the boss.
Two hunters are killed by several Ice Elves (Ice Slayers), who then toy with Jinwoo and the others. Chul instructs them to divide into two groups. Only C-Rank hunters and higher are welcome to accompany him on his travels.
Park Heejin, a senior female hunter, joins Jinwoo’s group. Jinwoo saves Song-Yi swiftly from Ice Slayers, which leads Heejin to believe that he is not an E-Rank hunter. The groups of Chul and Jinwoo split up. On a tree, the Chul’s group notices ice bear marks. Chul believes that Jinwoo’s group won’t make it. As they mull over the thought, Chul and his group face three ice bears. Meanwhile, Heejin stops Jinwoo and alerts him of the Ice Bear’s markings.
It is not the Ice Bears that worry Jinwoo. He distributes coats from his inventory log to his team. Jinwoo asks everyone to refrain from requesting things from him or asking questions. Meanwhile, Baek watches the Red Gate as an ice bear passes Jinwoo’s group.
Dongsoo arrives, wanting to meet Jinwoo. Jinwoo takes down several Ice Bears. Meanwhile, Song-Yi and the others eat and talk about how strong Jinwoo is. Jinwoo explores the Ice Bears’ territory and summons Igris along with his shadow army, commanding them to fight the Ice Bears.
The Ice Bear boss shows up and overpowers Jinwoo’s shadow army. Jinwoo then orders Igris to take on the boss. Igris manages to defeat the boss, and Jinwoo praises him for the victory. At the same time, Chul’s group is struggling against some Ice Slayers, with many of his men desperately pleading for help.
Chul runs away, leaving his remaining allies to die. Solo Leveling Season 2 Ep 1 ends with an Ice Slayer smiling menacingly.
