Netflix is bringing us another exciting anime series, “Terminator Zero,” which is set to launch globally on August 29, 2024. It is written by Matt Tomlin, who also worked on “The Batman,” and it is made in collaboration with Skydance Animation. This series will have eight episodes and introduce us to new characters in the Terminator universe.
The story follows a soldier sent back in time to save humanity. She arrives in 1997 to protect a scientist named Malcolm Lee. Malcolm is trying to create an advanced AI system to fight against a bad AI called Skynet, which wants to destroy humanity. But things get complicated when an assassin from the future tries to stop them. This series will explore themes like morality and family.
The animation for “Terminator Zero” is done by Production I.G., a famous Japanese studio known for its work on movies like “Ghost in the Shell.” They’re really good at what they do! Leading the team behind “Terminator Zero” are producers from Skydance, with Masashi Kudo directing. Matt Tomlin is in charge of the story.
Before “Terminator Zero,” there was another animated series called “Terminator Salvation: The Machinima Series.” It was a short series released online to promote a movie. But this new series promises to be much bigger and better.
The last Terminator movie was “Terminator: Dark Fate,” which didn’t do so well in theaters. So, instead of making another live-action movie, they’re trying animation this time. It seems like a smart move!
Terminator Zero anime series is set to release on August 29, 2024, on Netflix.
